India won the toss and batted first. It was a 48 over match.  Sachin gave a blistering start. Scored at a strike rate of 6.00 plus from 3rd to 20th over. He scored 123 runs out of India's 315. No one other than Sachin in the lineup scored atleast a 50. The next best was MS Dhoni's 47 from 64 balls. and the third best was  extras 39.

India's front line bowlers Zaheer khan, Balaji, n Nehra gave away 188 runs in their 26 overs. Sachin took 1 wicket for 36 runs and took a catch also!
